Hanson’s Works
The club operates a fly fishing section which is open to all members. However, as the fish are taken, there is an extra charge, which varies depending on how many fish you expect to catch in the season. Further details are available from Paul Murphy on 01283 537800 (phone calls only between 6-8pm). NO NIGHT FISHING. The section lake is at Hanson’s Works, Walton Lane, Barton Under Needwood. Turn into the Hanson’s entrance - on the right, 200 yards after leaving the Barton roundabout towards Walton. Follow the road for some distance - beware the road humps. Look for the signs for our car park. This water is bank fishing only with no wading. The site is fairly flat in places with good parking close to the water.
River Dove
All club members are allowed to fly fish for trout, free of charge, in the River Dove. One brace of stocked Rainbow trout may be taken per day.All other fish must be returned. Rainbow trout are stocked during the coarse fishing close season. You may of course fly fish at any time, but no trout are stocked after May.
