River fishing issues – BMAA

We are two days into the river season and have already had to write and suspend membership to four anglers for rule breaking!

Two anglers using bivvies with doors closed at night on the River Dove – excuse was “its to stop the mozzies!” – Both fishing tight to the far bank willows and in a sleeping bag with a zipped up door and mozzi mesh down! – also clearly disregarding the no bivvies rule.

One angler suspended after leaving litter!

One angler suspended for starting to fish at 8am on the 15th of June!

Already had a text this morning regarding the gate at Nestles carpark on Marston Lane being left open after three anglers left this morning without shutting it!

If we continue like this I can see night fishing on the Rivers being banned by July to prevent us loosing waters.

I know its a small minority but they are making life very difficult – all members need to act as baliffs, if you see people breaking rules let the club know or get details etc. If you find litter – take it home yourself and sdvise us, photos again if possible.

Its no good telling us of litter and leaving it for us to go and collect it.

Sorry to moan – enjoy your fishing, I know most of our members are as good as gold.

As per usual there’s always some who think the rules don’t apply to them, I don’t know about suspension they should be banned, no excuse.
