EA works on weir at Dovecliff – River Dove (updated July, 2021).
Please find attached a briefing note providing the latest June update on the removal of Dove Cliff weir.
All of the main channel works are nearly complete and we hope to be putting the river back through the newly restored channel in the next couple of weeks. We do anticipate that his will cause the river to go a little bit cloudy while the river washes over the freshly placed stone and from the activity of removing of the sheet piles. We anticipate that any cloudy conditions will clear within a couple of hours and our contractor will endeavour to keep the creation dispersal of silt to a minimum.
Our online page about this project remains the same and has also been updated with this information. The link to this page is https://consult.environment-agency.gov.uk/west-midlands/removal-of-dove-cliff-weir.
