We hold rights to over 8½ miles of towpath extending from Wychnor to Clay Mills. The Canal holds all the usual species including Carp to 18lbs+, Chub to 4lbs+ and even Barbel to 8lbs+. The boat traffic can be heavy at times so for the bigger fish try early morning or late evening

Listed below are the main access points, working from Wychnor Bridge Lock boundary to Clay Mills. They are: Dogshead Bridge, Catholme Bridge, Mill Lane Bridge, Barton Turn, Douglas Bridge, Oakamoor Café (parking is as directed by owner before fishing), Branston Waterpark, Tatenhill Lane, Centrum, Shobnall Road, Ravens Way, Dallow Lock, Horninglow Road Bridge, Masefield Crescent, Princess Way Bridge, Beech Lane, James Brindly Way, Hillfield Lane, and the boundary at Clay Mills Bridge.

No fishing is allowed on the ‘crossover’ stretch (this is the stretch between Tatenhill Lock, Bridge 34 and the bridge near the Oakamoor Cafe, Bridge 35) because of Power Lines.

No fishing within 25 metres of APPROACHES to locks or at Permanent Moorings.

We no longer have any car parking arrangements with the Oakamoor cafe.
